Ugandans Dance in Streets in Support, Celebration of Kadaga's Promised Christmas "Gift" while she now claims desire for Uganda's "...laws to respect the rights of all Ugandans."
Hate Becomes Law
The internet is alight with numerous articles and links spreading this unexpected and shocking maneuver. The bill has, reportedly been revised to remove the death penalty punitive option, but allows life imprisonment to remain on the table.
According to one source, part of the jubilation of the people, is that they never received the text of the bill in any of their native languages. There are many groups, each with their own key languages. The bill was provided only in English. A language of which they have little to no mastery. The text of the bill can be found here.
Further, due to international attention and pressure, the original "Kill the Gays Bill" was suddenly taken from view and subversively attached to a less prominent, attention getting bill.

"From 5 to 8 March 2009, a workshop took place in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, that featured three American evangelical Christians: Scott Lively, an author who has written several books opposing homosexuality; Caleb Lee Brundidge, a self-professed former gay man who conducts sessions to heal homosexuality; and Don Schmierer, a board member of Exodus International, an organisation devoted to promoting "freedom from homosexuality through the power of Jesus Christ". "The Kill the Gays bill has Passed in Uganda .There are about two million Reported Gay Men and women in Uganda. This Law is to IN in [sic] prison them and kill them one by one.

People in Uganda are rejoicing in the passing of the law as they dance in the streets. Many Say as Christians they are looking to kill them to help there government and say it with Joy and Happiness. Many have been beating in the street already.some killed.
I have had many all morning long who want to kill themselves and end there life. I have been up all morning consoling these people as tears rub down my face.. As Christians are we suppose to hurt each other are love each other. Jesus Christ who repents the light of the world. How can we bring people Christ when we have hate in our hearts. How can we shine light into darkness when we have hate. I ask that all payers be with these people as Rwanda does not repeat it self all over again."

"We would like to report that the *Anti homosexuality bill has been passed*by parliament of Uganda. It moved from the Second to the third reading before being passed in a matter of minutes this morning on the floor of parliament. Although the bill wasn't on the official order paper for today, the rules of procedure allow the speaker to allow an urgent matter to be put on the table of parliament. The Prime minister, tried to oppose the motion but the speaker refused. The motion was moved by Hon. Mp Obua Ogwal Benson, Moroto County Mp. He is an opposition member of parliament.
The only amendments we know on the bill that has been passed is that the death penalty has been replaced with life imprisonment for certain offences. Other than that,we believe that the bill has been passed in the same draconian state as it was in in 2009. This is a huge blow and set back for the LGBTI community and their allies in Uganda. The next step is for the bill to be sent to the president for signing. We believe that at this point, this is where we should focus our attention, as parliament has betrayed Human Rights in Uganda."

Insanity Might be Called Systemic and "Abounding"
Uganda Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Fr. Simon Lokodo "In the context of Stephen Fry, asking Ugandan Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Fr. Simon Lokodo, in a recorded interview, why Ugandans were more concerned with what gays did in the privacy of their homes rather than with the high incidence of men raping girls, Lokodo responded:
“Ah, But it is the RIGHT kind of child rape. It is men raping girls and that is natural.” Lokodo is a member of the clergy.

"It is shocking, but not surprising, that Uganda has pushed forward this reprehensible bill today against the Kuchus of their country. It is hard to understand that, in the twenty-first century, a government feels entitled to have a vote in the personal, private, lives of its citizens. We all know that prisons are profitable businesses. Is this, perhaps, one of their motivations? In addition to the horrifying instigation of this situation by American "churches" and "leaders".
It is shameful, embarrassing, and inconceivable. The world is watching." #uganda
